Agastya gurukulam is a non-governmental/non-profit organization dedicated to the revival of the traditional Bharateeya system of education, based in India and the US. Agastya has been running educational programs for children in Samskrit, shastric Ganit and authentic Itihaas for the past 2 years with excellent response from parents. Currently Agastya has students from at least 8 countries around the world, and that number is set to increase with the new year.
Agastya is run by a board of highly qualified, successful professionals in different fields who have all imparted traditional Samskrit-based education to their own children. Sri Sree Balaji is a successful technology entrepreneur based in Seattle, whose activities include teaching Sanskrit and Tamil, organic farming and running a goshala towards protection of Indian native breeds of cows. Smt. Vijaya Viswanathan is an engineer and management professional who quit her Wall Street job to home educate her 2 children using a hybrid curriculum of traditional and modern subjects. She is also President of Infinity Foundation India. Dr. Archana Purushotham is a Neurologist and Researcher at the Baylor College of Medicine – one of the top medical colleges in the US, and she will be speaking to us about Agastya Gurukulam today.
